Property Details
We renovated this historic fieldstone house to create an oasis of over 2,000 square feet. Unlike other historic homes, this one has a nice open floor plan. Wide doorways and a ramp to the front door are great for accessibility. You get the best of rare American Chestnut wide plank floors and 2 foot thick fieldstone walls combined with the comfort of modern bathrooms and magazine-worthy furnishings. As art-lovers, you will find original paintings and other works of art throughout the home. We’ve collected and curated one of a kind vintage items mixed with high end furniture from modern stores like Restoration Hardware. Each bedroom has a comfortable foam mattress and linens that we use in all of our properties and are a guest favorite!
The home is heated and cooled using a state of the art, eco-friendly geothermal system. The water for the house comes from an artesian well that flows to a pond which is cold enough for trout to thrive.
In spring and summer the grounds are especially gorgeous with mature walnut, cherry, oak, and locust trees. Deer, turkeys, hummingbirds, owls and many more species frequent the property. Beautiful perennial flower beds overflow with lilies, daisies, dahlia, peonies, ferns, butterfly bush, hydrangea, and coral bells.
